August 30th, 2007 | Apple, OnlineWhether its the iTunes Music Store, Torrents, or just your Instant Messaging Service such as AIM, we’ve all at one point or another tried to share our favorite music with others. Now, with DOT.TUNES we have our answer.

DOT.TUNES lets you share your iTunes music securely with anyone via any web browser. Just download DOT.TUNES on your Mac or PC and try it out. The application was originally selling for $30 per download but is now free. For additional charges many great plug-ins are available to enhance your DOT.TUNES. Some of the current plug-ins allow users to:
- Stream music to their iPhone, PSP, Palm device or Nintendo Wii
- Allow visitors to subscribe to certain playlists and receive updated content
- RSS allows readers to connect to iTunes and keep track of new files as they are added
- Add or remove users, assign or change passwords and privileges and designate which music users have access to
- Create an unlimited number of user accounts and up to 25 simultaneous connections to your DOT.TUNES
I’ve just downloaded the application on my MacBook Pro and have published a small version of my iTunes library. This is an exciting application for me as my group of friends are extremely interested in all genres of music and share our libraries often. This will completely streamline that process and allow for sharing even when we may not be at our computers. Once I’ve set up my sharing preferences I’ll post them so you all can check out my music collection. To stay up to date on what’s happening with DOT.TUNES visit their blog.
