I experienced something similar to your spike in posts after one of my personal blogs was mentioned on a PR8. It did drop way down to normal after a few days, but it motivated me to look at ways to steadily build to that level again. Congratulations! At the same time, I think it is a great time for you to really gear up the effort to build up your blog. The challenge will be how to turn these 300 readers as loyal readers to come back to your site. You may want to pick up some of Darren's advice and launch a project to implement them, then, all the readers will probably come back again to see how you are doing and how much impact that made on your traffic!
