Wallpaper Weekend: Lighthouse & Sailboat

Every weekend I post a photo I have taken and make them available for you to download. This weekends shot is from a recent trip to Newport, Rhode Island. I shot this at 195mm | f/5.3 | 1/1000 s | ISO 400. I’ve added a dark sepia filter to the image to accent both the light hitting the lighthouse as well as the sailboat.

    I really like the light shining on the left side of the lighthouse. Somehow that creates a story in the photo, and gives such a presence to the lighthouse. I am really below average as a photographer, but am looking forward to learning how you are taking these beautiful photos.
