This post comes at a time in which I’m nervous and extremely anxious. As of last week, my roommates and I were moving into an amazing new house. I was going to have the master bedroom with ample space for my new mac setup (a beast of a mac pro and a soon to be 30″ monitor). I was so excited as many would be, especially if you saw this house. Well, as of last night this house was yanked away from us because the owner of the house lacked what some of us call intelligence. She verbally guaranteed us the house and sent us the lease for review, however woke up the next morning only to be informed by her accountants that renting is not a cost effective method for her at this point in time and that she must sell the house. Most people would have done that research prior to putting the house up for rent.

Needless to say, my roommates and I now have until Sunday of this week to find a place to live, move out of our existing house and move in to a new place. The excitement for my new setup has subsided a little picturing my stuff in boxes in a storage facility until I have a roof over my head. I then pictured myself on the street corner (which is totally not going to happen thanks to my loving friends) and laughed because my choice of sign would be as my title states, “will blog for home”. I’m not too sure why I find that funny as I am between a rock and a hard place now but in my deliriousness I’ve at least found a way to laugh.

My note to all of you that either are looking to rent property in the near future and even those that own property thinking of leasing…take into consideration the situations of your prospective tenants. Real estate is a business venture and you should treat it as such, however, you also could be greatly affecting the lives of nice people by committing to things you should not be committing to. So I ask you all to just plan ahead, have a back up plan and get everything in writing as early on as possible.
