As I’ve been doing this blogging thing for almost three full months now I’ve been reading a lot of sites about blogging in hopes to learn some things to make my blog better. If you’re a new blogger there are tons of great sources out there such as Problogger, DailyBlogTips and Performancing. One thing I’ve struggled with is my site layout. I haven’t really felt like its working for me right now. As I generate more traffic I would like to start including some advertising as well so I will be adjusting the layout to account for this. I’ve always been the type of person that wants to have their things look different…maybe this is why I gravitated to becoming a mac user. So what is my plan you might ask?

I’ve enlisted a few friends (all art directors) to first redesign my logo. From there I plan on finding a new Wordpress theme, hopefully custom, if I can find the right person to execute my visions. If not, in my search for that person, I’ll be picking one of a few themes I’ve been checking out that I believe will work in the meantime. So where will my logo end up?

I anticipate my logo being more tight and a little more compact. I feel that it has done the job so far and I am looking forward to the creative exploration as my roommate has done some pretty good logos. If he had a site, this is where you would see the link. As soon as his site is available you’ll be sure to here about it here at toonice4TV.

The theme I currently plan on utilizing two columns. The sidebar column will be fairly wide and allow for some banner ads and a few special features I plan on adding to display certain areas within my site.

I truly look forward to this update as it will be just another step in the right direction for me in that I am in this adventure of blogging for the long haul. My content will hopefully always be improving and as I’ve been learning will get better as I keep doing it. They do say “your first 10,000 blog posts are always the worst“. So cheers to progress and getting better!
