Wallpaper Weekend: Reflection

December 2nd, 2007 | Photography

Each weekend I post a photo I’ve taken with my Nikon D50. As always I try to post shots that I find to be interesting that could make for a cool wallpaper. However, this week I wanted to showcase a photo taken by my cousin. He’s a great photographer in his own right and he had sent me a photo he took a week or so ago while his sister was visiting him in LA. When he sent the photo he asked for my advice on what type of effects I would use in photoshop to enhance the photo. As he sent me the photo, I immediately knew what I thought would look interesting.

The original shot was in full color. To me, the most important part of this picture was the reflection in the lens of the sunglasses. As soon as I saw the picture, I advised my cousin to convert the picture to black and white in photoshop but l eave the color in the lens. This action really draws the eye to the main focal point of this photo, the reflection. I’m a big fan of this technique and have used myself in a few photos.

I’ve formatted the image for a 30″ display to accommodate all monitor sizes. If you would like to download the file please click the link below:
