Connect360 Has Reconnected Me With My TV
February 24th, 2008 | Personal, Technologytoonice4TV was partly started because I found myself spending more time in front of the computer than the television. I really only find myself on the couch in front of the TV for a few shows, Lost being the most common cause. Otherwise I’m at my desk or on my couch with my MBP surfing the web reading up on whatever happens to kill a few hours while I absorb all that I can. All that has recently changed with the purchase of Connect360.
I feel that Nullriver created Connect360 with people like me in mind. Like I said I spend a lot of time on the computer and that sometimes involves some torrents. Sometimes! The purchase of Connect360 has changed the way I interact with my media in my home. Lately I’ve been watching tons of the movies that I’ve downloaded on our 42″ LCD television. All through my Xbox 360.
Connect360 indexes your iTunes and iPhoto libraries and wirelessly shares them with your Xbox 360. Utilizing the Xbox 360 interface you can navigate through all your media. For videos, they need to be in the format of a “.avi”. If you store your movies on your Mac in the “Movies” folder this process will be extremely easy.

Once in the movie folder, all AVI’s will be available.

Just select your movie of choice and sit back and enjoy the show. It really is amazing how simple using this application is. Please keep in mind that your Xbox360 does need to be connected to your network in someway to share.
Whether its hard wired or connected via a wireless router. If you’re using the Xbox360 Wireless adapter and the apple N router like myself you’ll have to disable the wireless security for the two devices to talk to each other. Other than that I’ve had no issues connecting the two.
It’s nice to mix it up and watch some movies from the couch vs at my desk and I bet some of you would agree. If you would like to get Connect360 you can find it here.
Enjoy and let me know how it changes your viewing experience.
