Glassbooth’s Facebook App Let’s You See How You’re Friends May Vote
April 26th, 2008 | How-To, News, Online, TechnologyBack in November I wrote about how a startup called Glassbooth makes voting easier for everyone, especially those who may not have the time to do the research that is needed to make an educated vote. Well, last month my friends at Glassbooth let me know that they released an elegant and innovative Facebook application. I’ve been informed that this is just one of the many democracy tools they plan on releasing. This new Facebook application now let’s you show you’re friends and network who you are most politically aligned with as well as see how you may align with your friends.

Glassbooth is a nonprofit organization that is creating innovative ways to access politcal information. They state that an informed and interested democracy is a powerful thing. If you’re interested in learning more about Glassbooth and how they are acting in the public interest check out their core principles here.
Their site has come a long way with additions such as a blog and now even their Facebook application. I decided to try out the app as I was not only interested but wanted to support the Glassbooth cause because I find it to be a valuable tool that should be used by many.
The application was very easy to add to my Facebook profile. To do so you can access the application here.

Similar to taking the quiz on the site you’ll be prompted to take the quiz within Facebook to start the process in determining the most appropriate policatal candidate.

Here you can see whom I aligned with closest. You’ll notice it places itself on your profile page for all friends and visitors to see. I’ve also added to my sidebar as well.

Just like that you’re good to roll with the Glassbooth Facebook application. Again, I urge you all to check out their site here and learn more about their mission. If you’re on Facebook don’t forget to add the Glassbooth application to your profile.
Now that you’ve taken the quiz, how do you align? We’re you surprised with the outcome?
